文摘:The Seminole County, Fla., Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved changes to its noise code at a meeting on May 12. Developed in consultation with a noise control engineer, the revisions set both A- and C-weighted sound level limits based on the location of the receptor, along with a procedure for measuring them. Chapter 165 of the Seminole County Code now defines noise as "any sound that unreasonably annoys or disturbs individuals or causes or tends to cause an adverse psychological or physiological effect on individuals," and noise disturbance as sound that either: "is harmful or injurious to the health, safety, or welfare of any individual; unreasonably interferes with the enjoyment of life, quiet, comfort, or outdoor recreation of an individual of ordinary sensitivity and habits; or endangers or injures real or personal property or the conduct of business."
