More attention has been placed on the role that antioxidants are playing in extending the life of automotive lubricants and reducing vehicular emissions. In September 2006, TLT delved into the current additive challenges faced in meeting new automotive engine specifications.1 One of the key issues was how to replace the multifunctional additive class known as zinc dialkyldi-thiophosphates (ZDDPs).
