文摘:Engineers at Case New Holland (CNH) use computer-aided engineering (CAE) software to simulate the working of mechanical systems to optimize designs. Simulations significantly reduce testing and are considered as virtual prototyping and testing. The major advantages of the virtual prototyping are: (1) optimizing products in the early stage of their development; (2) reducing product development cost and cycle time; (3) reducing product cost; (4) increasing product reliability; and (5) improving product functionality. All the above advantages mean better value for our customers. The most important advantage is that simulations enable companies to shift their product investment to an earlier stage of the development process. This shift avoids costly problems later in the development cycle, which leads to a higher return on investment. Simulations enhance the functionality of the product which increases the product value. Simulations also promote optimization of the products, making them more cost effective and reliable.
