The demand for the improvement in safety and quality of the vehicle becomes gradually severe. The noise and vibration performance such as brake judder and squeal noise concerning the disk brake is an important research problem, and it is now under study by each car maker and each brake maker. Under such situations, the development of "CLZ type caliper" was taken up to improve the noise and vibration performance. The caliper was studied by the FEM analysis and the parameter experiment, etc.. And it was clarified quantitatively that the noise and vibration performance was influenced by a part and a characteristic of the caliper. The trade-off between each performance was optimized based on the result above and the product was marketed.
